John’s First Birthday Shoot | Arlington, TX
He is ONE with the FORCE ! This Star Wars Cake Smash was so much fun to shoot and plan. That special little guy belongs to two of my close friends. When John or how we call him “Baby Man” ‘s mama shared the theme for his first birthday and the concept she was thinking I was beyond excited ! We are both huge DIY and craft lovers so we got to work. She got her dad to make the round wall and her mom to sew the cake smash outfit. I mean she really went far and beyond. We literally only planned this shoot in 2 weeks and that didn’t give us time to get anything made to order. Thankfully her mom OVER DELIVERED. how cute is that little outfit !
I got to work on the custom shaker cake topper and loaded up the car with my backdrops and equipment. The Novio and I hit the road and headed out to Texas. It was truly a team effort from many who love Baby Man to make his first birthday shoot not only happen but super special. We arrived in Arlington 26 hours later, spent some time with our friends and got everything ready for the shoot the next day.
Like I mentioned we didn’t have much time to plan for this session so we couldn’t secure a baker. We did the next best thing, headed to Whole foods and got their smallest cake in stock that some what matched the theme. Then just added some black stars that we cut from store brought fondant plus the custom shaker topper and VOILA we have a Star Wars theme cake.
Hope you enjoy the cuteness overload that is about to hit you !!
His Grandma made the round wall, and wrapped it in contact paper. How cute is that !!
This was the 2nd Shaker Topper I ever made and I am so proud of how good it turned out.
