Maternity Session at Fort Tryon Park | New York, NY

Bianca & Nelson are expecting a baby girl this fall. They really wanted an outdoor Autumn look and feel for their session but New York City was refusing to turn yellow and orange in Mid-October. Their baby girl was due any minute, so we all decide on Fort Tryon. This beautiful park is nestled right Uptown by Dyckman. We were so happy that the Garden was still looking lively and there was plenty of foliage. It is truly a little gem in the city with views of the Hudson River and you can walk right over to The Cloisters Museum. That’s the beautiful thing about New York City, there are so many treasures that take you away from the city without actually having to leave the city.

Bianca literally only had a few days to prepare for her session and I absolutely love that she went with a modern chic look for her first outfit and then a traditional maternity gown. The second look went perfectly with her daughter Meadow’s fairy outfit. It gave all the whimsical vibes. Meadow was so much fun to capture, when asked if she replied “No Thank you” lol. Not the answer we wanted but at least she was polite. We just let her be herself laughing and running and she did great. I was completely obsessed with how beautiful and smart she was. If anyone knows me, they know I LOVE kids. And never have I seen a name so fitting, Meadow. As we made our way through the park she collected leafs and flowers. I mean, how cute !

So thankful that this sweet family trusted me to capture this very special moment for them. And a special shout out to Nelson, he helped me so much through out the session. He was the official dress fluffer for his wife. It must of been a small workout having to continuously run out of my shot while the dress was in the air.

Love that this was a New York City Maternity Session but probably not what you would expect when you read that. If you are not from New York City you would think downtown, city images, central park. But this park, Fort Tryon was the perfect location for this not so fall session.
