Wild One | A Jungle Themed Cake Smash | New York, NY

OMG you guys, I LOVE shooting Cake Smashes !! BUT, I love shooting them even more when it’s for one my babies. Zion is by handsome baby nephew and I can’t believe he is already one. Where did the time go ? For those of you that don’t know one of my favorite roles in this world is that of a Titi (Auntie). I am so blessed to be the aunt to some amazing little ones.

Zion is the youngest from the Titi Scarlett crew 💖.

We had the theme all ready to go but then the world got a little crazy and we seemed to have gotten caught up in it. A few weeks before he turned one we realized, “OMG we need to shoot this session”. We are so thankful for amazon, dollar tree and my cricut machine. I made the cake topper myself, got the outfit on amazon, got the animals from dollar tree, spray painted them and just went with a Walmart cake. We were all excited to shoot this Wild One Jungle themed cake smash.

The big day came and my little bear was not feeling good.

Poor thing got sick a few hours before his session. But luckily he got better and made it to me all the way from the Bronx and we headed to the park behind my house. But here is the kicker the sun was setting and we only had about 20 minutes to set up the decor and shoot this session. I had planned to set up a tepee and draped the balloons down the side of it.

We had absolutely no time for me so we went with plan B which is just adding more balloons to the garland and placing them behind him. I was so sad that I couldn’t bring my vision to life but after seeing these images I am so happy with the result because I captured my baby nephew for a big milestone just like I had done his brother almost 7 years before. Look at those gorgeous big eyes 😍 Hope you guys enjoy this session as much as I did 💖

I made the Wild One Cake topper for this Cake Smash using my Cricut Machine with Cardstock I picked up at Michaels. The animals I purchased at dollar tree and spray painted them gold. So much cheaper than purchasing the animals that already came in gold.
